Root Has anyone had this problem?

I have rooted my phone and removed "tether manager". I now seem to have no data service at all. Not that this phone was the greatest in that respect anyhow, it may just not be seeing it. This phone would normally show E service in the same places my Nokia will show 3G. In my living room, it would normally show E service, now it shows no data service. This may have been the case before the root and removal of TM, but Im not sure. Ill admit, I kind of rushed into the removal of TM, so I didnt back it up either.

My question is, has anyone ever removed TM and had the data service capability go with it? Is this even possible, or is my reception just gotten shittier where it wasnt great to begin with with this phone?

Mine didn't funk up my data. Go to your APN settings and check it. I listed a working APN setup for US Tmo in Bpears rom thread it could fix this for you

I experienced something similar, brought on by similar actions (attempting to freeze TetheringManager). My phone would still connect to the mobile network, but would try to route all web access through t-mobile's sign-in page. Web access was fine via wi-fi. Thanks to ZenPit's post, I was able to see that my APN settings had somehow changed to PAP authentication, which is password authentication. When I changed authentication type to "None", normal access returned.
