Root Has anyone received or installed the update?

I know from the T-Mobile site, it lists the update being rolled out as of January 2nd. I still haven't been able to receive it or even check for an update due to an error.

Was browsing around on a different forum and noticed quite a few comments about not being able to check for an update.

People keep getting authentication error. Same as me. I was reading that one guy installed the update and was rooted and the phone now just shows a black screen after boot.

Also, I know there are multiple versions of this phone so please post which carrier (MetroPCS or T-Mobile) you're on if you received the update.

I've got Metro PCS and I've got no update, at least not yet.

Edit: I just got the update today, don't want to update until I get more info on anyone who has(I'm on metro pcs)

I got the update this morning and guess what?

My phone now boot to a black screen. I can press the power button to wake the phone up, but the screen only comes on for 1 second then shuts off again.

I've tried to factory reset it, and still does the same thing. Fixing to take it back to MetroPCS.

there are several threads here that say to use that quick second to slide down the status bar and get into settings to disable HW Overlay in dev options.

gotta do it everytime though

It's not that hard to unroot and update and root your phone again, i kept doing that but it kept popping up so I just decided to unroot, update and root again now it don't bother me.
