Love the Droid. One thing that bothers me is the proprietary usb port. I have so many micro usbs laying around and none of them will work... Oh well

It's not proprietary. Its micro. Are you confusing it with mini USB? I used the cable from my storm and the one that came with it is still in the box.
If you do mean mini, you can get a mini to micro adapter for about $15.00

Ahh touche, you are correct. Sorry for my confusion. I guess I'll just have to stock up on the micros then.
 
Errr? It is a standard MicroUSB port. I can confirm that I'm presently using the same MicroUSB cord that came with my (Sprint) Palm Pre. Works just fine.

What I did notice is the port is sort of upside down. So flip your "other" MicroUSB cable over and try plugging it in. Either way I've tried other MicroUSB cords and they work just fine. Good Luck.
