Have I got a virus?

Yesterday my employer received an abusive text which appeared to come from the number on my Galaxy S2. I did not send such a text and thankfully my employer accepts that there must be another explanation.
There is no evidence of the text on my phone. Also I have installed an antivirus app(AVG Mobilation) which did a quick scan without finding anything. I am quite careful about the apps I install and only install well reviewed ones.
Does anyone recognise this as viral behaviour or have any idea what happened please?

There are prank web sites from which people are able the send such messages with a fake phone number.
So this could be a bad joke of some "friends".

Contact your carrier and see if they have a record of you sending the text to your boss. If not, I think your fine. If so, I think you should consider doing a factory reset to clear out any malicious apps.
