Actually Kolio HTC is the only major manufacturer to support Adoptable storage out the box. Samsung and LG don't. I was trying to look up my order status on the HTC site and it tells me I have an incorrect password even though I reset the password. Traffic do you think?

I have never been able to access my HTC 10 order. Customer support told me it was because I ordered as "Guest" using PayPal credit. However, I later ordered an Ice View Case using a credit card and I can't access that order either.

I stand corrected regarding the Adoptable Storage, but, it wouldn't surprise me if the feature is omitted from US Carrier models.

I hope not. My plan is to get a big card and install every app and game I've ever downloaded from the Play Store. I'm up to 94 now but depending on where I get the sim card from the T-mobile apps might not count and I won't need Kies so that means I plan to install 87 give or take a few.

I must have missed that Thread about requiring UHS-1U3. But, all is good. I ordered Samsung Pro+ 128GB U3 card and it should be here tomorrow. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CO48M36/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I did bust must $100 budget. $119. But, the SanDisk Ultra 128GB U3 was on back order for 2 to 3 weeks. I am hoping the Samsung is good enough until bigger faster microsd cards are available in the sub $100 price range. Next question is do you make it adoptable memory or removable? I read an article that said removable my be better if you want to switch cards latter. Any thoughts?

For a phone with only 8GB or 16GB of storage it might make sense to use a microSD card as internal storage. However, the HTC 10 has 32GB of internal storage so I think the microSD card should be used as removable storage. Read this
AndroidCentral article on the subject -- it discusses the pros and cons of adoptable storage.

I'm on the fence. I've been happy with the m8, so thinking of upgrading to the 10. Will probably wind up with it eventually since I don't really know what I would get instead. Not a huge samsung phone fan and the other phones seem kind of 'meh'

I pre-ordered and got mine on the 5th. For me it was a no-brainer. Just as you said, there just wasn't anything else I wanted instead, and the M8 battery just wasn't cutting it any more.

With that in mind, I'll tell you that the 10 feels very much like the M8 in most respects, just better (if that makes any sense.) I really like having the fingerprint sensor, but I miss the dual front facing speakers more than I thought I would. Overall, very happy with it.

I'm about 3/4 done with loading apps but coming off an 11-7 shift I need to sleep. Feels okay in my hand, kinda reminds me of the Samsung Galaxy SII for some reason... I don't know why...

I'm hanging fire until September when the new Nexus is announced - really don't like the look of the 10 and don't fancy getting a 7 month old phone now. My 8 is just about hanging in ther - it's on a car charger most of the day anyway

Still waiting for all my apps to download. Thankfully phone came 75 percent charged, lol.

So far it is light years ahead of my m9, which had *consistent* overheating problems. Including now as I sync messages and call logs with the 10.

I fell off the No more new phones wagon yet again: :paperbagdroid:
Intended on going to T-Mobile for a slight upgrade (Jump On Demand) on my 2nd phone, from the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime to the Galaxy J7.
Spec-wise,it was a no-brainer,w/only a $50 price increase,but,once I saw it in the store,the Galaxy J7 looked cheap,the Grand Prime was a supposed lesser phone,but,the white & chrome on the J7 just wasn't doing it for me.
Sounds shallow & petty, but,it's part of the overall experience & enough of a WTF for me to not go for it.

So,any sane person woulda just walked out the door, but, being the phone 'ho I am,I couldn't resist & picked up an HTC 10.
Just got home w/it moments ago, still in the box unopened.

I see a lotta familiar faces here, most seasoned HTC users & my guess is,probably not gonna be a lot of activity here, considering how well-polished the phone is,both hardware & software.

Anyhoo, glad to be back in an HTC once again, especially w/the return of the capacitive buttons, freeing up the display.
If anyone has T-Mobile-specific questions or in need of comparison/troubleshooting,I'll do my best to help/answer any questions regarding such.

See y'all 'round,enjoy the HTC 10! :thumbsupdroid:

Congratulations on falling off the wagon! I'm new to HTC but, so far, I really like the HTC 10. I'm on metroPCS (the poor man's T-Mobile?) but I've been happy ever since I switched from T-Mobile over a year ago.

Metro PCS is good, nothing wrong with saving $.
Most who've been on both say the experience is similar (regarding speeds/etc..).
If I ever get my device balance paid in-full,I may switch to Metro PCS.
Only other thing holding me back is I'm on an older unlimited plan w/14GB tethering at no cost,& a 17% discount on the base plan.

I got my Verizon HTC 10 on Saturday, the 28th. I come from a long line of HTC phones. I love their phones, hate their support. My last phone was the HTC One M9. I really liked that phone except for the overheating. One fried at 125° and Verizon sent me a rehab. That was better but still hot. I finally gave up and got the "10". I really like it so far except for some minor issues and two major. I liked the two front facing speakers better. The bottom speaker I think is the bass and it's not a normal speaker. If you put your finger over it, you can feel the air move. Pretty cool but a different sound that I have to get used to. I also not a fan of the curved screen. The two best glass screen protector makers (Phantom & Pleson) have baulked on the "10" because of the curve. The ones that are being made have either a wide gap of exposed screen around the edges or an air space where the protector couldn't make the curve. I liked the customizable buttons on the M9. It had the standard three with the ability to have a forth with your choice of function. The other preferences have to do with Android 6 vs 6.0.1. I liked 6 better. A few little things that 6.0.1 removed. Taking everything into consideration, IMHO, the HTC 10 is a keeper.
UPDATE: I just tried previously purchased HTC active earplugs. When I plugged them in, I got this amazing setup program. Unbelievable!! The best these 'plugs ever sounded.

Does HTC sell carrier specific versions for GSM carriers? Or are the unlocked compatible with both AT&T and TMo here in the US?

TIA.

Both:

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phones/htc-10.html#Glacier-Silver

I believe the hardware is the exact same for T-Mobile/Unlocked versions.
WI-FI Calling & VOLTE is supported on the unlocked version for T-Mobile
http://www.tmonews.com/2016/04/unlo...h-t-mobile-including-volte-and-wi-fi-calling/

As you may be aware,AT&T does not sell the HTC 10,so,no carrier specific model for AT&T.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...-but-the-unlocked-version-will-be-compatible/

As for any WI-FI Calling/VOLTE on AT&T,IDK,you'll need to verify w/them.........

One other BTW:
There is a Carbon Gray version that is T-Mobile specific, but,it's only available for purchase via HTC,T-Mobile is offering only the Glacial Silver color.

From the HTC USA site,
http://www.htc.com/us/go/buy-htc-10/
they sell 4 versions;
Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and Unlocked. The unlocked can be used on AT&T and T-Mobile. Colors vary be carrier and there is a new Crimson Red being released in Asia. There also is a 64 Gb version coming out soon. I'm not sure of the specifics for that.

I have the factory unlocked HTC 10 and it should work fine on any GSM carrier, at least in the US. I have used mine on both T-Mobile (MetroPCS) and AT&T (Cricket) and it works fine on both carriers.
