Help Having a few problems - prox. sensor and auto-update

Tufflaw

Howdy, having a few problems and hoping for some good suggestions.

First, the proximity sensor seems to have stopped working properly. When I bring the phone to my ear to talk on a call, the screen stays on no matter what I do. I did the *#0*# to check the sensor and it seems to be working when testing it, but just not on phone calls - it has been working fine since I got the phone 2 months ago. I checked settings and the auto screen off during calls is checked. Can't think of anything else that might be happening.

Second, does anyone know a way to stop the phone from automatically updating my apps when I'm out of wifi area? I only have 2GB/month plan for 4g so I don't want to burn through it unnecessarily. If it's not possible to set for wifi only then how to do I turn it off entirely and do it manually?

Have been having battery problems too but am going to try some suggestions I read in the forum tonight to see how it works out. Going from fully charged at night, going to sleep, waking up and phone is at 85-90% with power save on, wifi and GPS off, and all apps killed in task manager. We'll see if the tips I read here work out - maybe with auto-update turned off that might help it out.

Thanks!!
