Root Having Issues With Sideloading

CharlieCarr

Lurker
So, I'm trying to sideload apps to my Nexus 6P through TWRP 3.1.0, and I keep getting the error '! Failed /system could not be mounted!', and I can't find a way around this.

Anyone got any advice? Thanks in advance!

Hi @CharlieCarr,

Could you be a bit more specific about what you mean by "sideload"? That word has a few different meanings depending on what you're trying to do - and any advice we could provide would depend on precisely that.

In general, "sideloading" an application simply refers to installing an app from outside of the Play Store. All you need is to download the APK from a reputable site and execute it from within Android - no root nor TWRP required, though your phone will prompt you to enable third-party sources if you haven't already.
