Having problems syncing

I have a xperia play on 2.3.4. I recently synced my facebook friends with my contacts and only 3 appeared to be synced properly. (e.g. Their fb profile pic would come up besides their name in my contacts). Some of the contacts did get synced but their pic doesnt come up. And some didnt even sync even though I have them in my friends and contacts list.
Anyone know why? And is there a manual way of syncing them?

Only the contacts with phone number will appear, mate.

But what if they me fb friend had an email adress? Since a email address is unique. And can I manually sync?

Probably your contact book is set to only show contacts with phone numbers.

It could be maybe that you have your phone set to only "Contact with phone number". To check this go to the Contacts and press the menu button, then select Filter and un-check the Contact with phone number.
