For some reason, when using the GMAIL app and replying (scrolling to bottom of email, as opposed to doing it differently in the EMAIL APP that puts "sent from DROID via verizon as the footer), I have to tap REPLY twice when using GMAIL app, in order for it to work. Pushing R works immediately, but REPLY has to be tapped twice. Anyone else with these issues?

I haven't had this issue. Try updating gmail. Find it in the market and install to get the latest version.
