Im fairly new to android ive have 4 other cheap ones this is my first higher end one and ive had this problem with all l of them. Ive tried using widows media player and just dropoing them on the sd card with the phone plugged in. When I try it only puts about half of them on I have about 3900 and sonething songs and it will only put about 2000 of them on. Ive tried to get them on three times and it seems randome which ones make it on as its slightly different every tine it leaves off artists and when it outs them on if there is multiple albums for the artist it may only put one of them on maybe 2. Would greatly appreciate some advice thanks.

Are all your songs in MP3 format? Do any of them have DRMs attached?

You don't need to use Windows Media Player. Plug your phone into your PC and use my computer. Create a folder on your SD card called Music. Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the Music folder on your SD card. Then open a second Windows Explorer windows where your music is on your PC. Then just click and drag from one window to the other.

I have always found it easiest to just copy the files from the PC directly to the SD card. I don't use Media Player to do it. I keep my music in an artist/album/song directory structure and everything has always played well with that. I originally just copied them, but now have a package called Vice Versa that sync's directories so that I don't have to worry with the overwrite, replace, skip crap. It works nicely. I guess one question that you should answer is whether your SD card is large enough for your music? I'm not saying that it isn't, but I have about that many songs and it eats up the majority of a 32GB card.

Ive dont that with the sd card and it still doesnt seem to all make it on there. Some of it is drm bu5 I have that seoerated for conversion to mp3 at a later date. Would moving it all over a little at a time help with the missing stuff problem? I have a 32 gb sd card and all the 3900 together only take uo about 22 gb

Is this possibly a Sandisc card? Your issues sound a lot like the issues I had with my card. I had to return it.

Yes I think that as well. Also only some of the music library playing can be caused by a counterfeit SD card. And there's a lot of fake SDs around, especially SanDisk.

Either way it might be worth the OP replacing it with a known good SD.

I cannot fit all my music even on my 64GB card but I suspect it would have been obvious if you were having issues with this simply due to the size. Are you sure your micro SD card is in good condition? Have you tested the card itself?

If you have and it's fine, then you have several options including the simple one mentioned by BigRedGonzo of simply sticking the card in your computer and copying the files over directly. If this doesn't work, I'd definitely suspect a dodgy card.

I was going to like this post and then I noticed that half the posts in this thread don't have a "like" link. What's going on?

[Edit]
Typical, now I posted this, the links have reappeared.

Apparently the "like" links are now controlled by a Sandisc card. :D

6236513[/URL]]Well I figured it out just putting a few folders on at a time fixed the problem super time consuming though

Glade to hear. Maybe it had something to do with the write speed of the card and to much being transfered at one time.
