Having trouble with Adobe Flash, please help!

Hi everyone,

I just got my first Android and I LOVE it! It's an LG Optimus Q with Android 2.3.

I'm having difficulty with Adobe Flash. So, I open up the browser and go to Rocko feat. Future - Take U Away @ HotNewHipHop and the page loads just fine but the embedded flash player (JWPlayer) never appears!

It's not just that website either. Any site with an embedded flash player like that never loads. Supposedly my phone should have already come with flash player installed. I tried downloading the flash player 10.3 APK from:(link deleted) and installed it on my Android but no luck.

What do I need to install on my Android for this to work? I really got this Android specifically for the Adobe Flash capabilities.

Thanks.

Make sure that Flash is enabled in your browser settings and that you are set to view the desktop versions of websites, not the mobile versions.

Hey manu2012

Welcome to AF :D

I have noticed some flash players have issues with Android myself, you may have better luck trying out a different browser (skyfire, dolphin...)

I don't have the same phone so I cannot say with 100% certainty but I believe the general principle should apply. Please try going to Android Market and download Flash 11 (that is the latest version of Flash currently available). When you have installed it, be sure that Flash is enabled in your browser setting (on demand or always on). I have tried loading your site on my HTC Desire, and everything seems to work normally, even videos.

Ok everyone,

I downloaded Dolphin and Skyfire and same problem...So it's obviously a problem with my flash player internal settings.

What am I missing here? Where do I go to edit the Flash Player settings? Step by step would really help. I just got this phone 2 days ago I've very new at this.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

It could be an issue with the JWplayer format. Try going to some other flash websites to see if those work (make sure some don't use the JWplayer format;))

In the stock browser you can go to settings to make sure it is enabled. Also if you haven't rebooted since installing the latest version of flash try that as well.

Where in the stock browser's settings? I don't see that.

^^^Yes I did that already. If anyone else has any other ideas, please suggest them. I had to spend 2 hours (literally) on the phone with the customer service of Straight Talk to get it activated so the last thing I want to do is return it.

Thanks for everyone's help so far. Any other suggestions?
