I have DirecTV and can watch the HBO channels. My question is this: I don't have a specific subscription that I know of and was wondering how I can use this particular app? Thanks for your assistance.

If by "can watch HBO" you mean you are a legal subscriber then it is easy.

If you haven't already you need to set up a username and password to access your DTV account. You can do so on their website or call DTV.
Then you download the HBO GO app and sign in using your DTV username and password. Simple as that. Good luck.

This works great on my Atrix. Be warned though, it uses a lot of data, just for one movie. Also, you have to have an HBO subscription, with Directv, in order to use this app.
