HD RAZR coming soon?

Going to China...will it come here? Nobody knows.

Could end up on AT&T, Sprint maybe even Verizon. May not even hit the states.

If it does I for one will not be mad. I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase and fully expect bigger things to come out next year. For me it's about owning a stable and reliable phone today and talking about the new tech tomorrow.

Chasing specs and tech is futile. Do your research and buy what you really want. Hopefully your choice ends up a good one and you end up with a stellar piece of equipment.

I'm good. Bring on the new tech and lets talk about all the new handsets, in the meantime I'll enjoy a great piece of hardware.

don't get me wrong i agree with you actually but there are a lot of users that are hell bent on making sure the device they buy doesn't get one upped in a matter of two months lol.

the whole "hey i'm waiting on that next gen phone" imo is not something i agree with. If you're waiting or concerned about the Next big phone coming out then you'll always be waiting.

I saw this one. It'll probably be Moto's ICS device next year or possibly..the new Nexus!

IMO, Moto has been 3 for 3 with this years' releases. I mean the D3, the Bionic and Razr have their issues but overall they are still great phones. Will they make it 4 for 4? :D

The next Moto phones are supposed to be the Dinara (13 Mpx camera) and the Droid 4/Maserati (4G slider). I started a Dinara forum a while back that no one posts on, there isn't a Maserati one here, but there has been a good discussion over at HoFo on the D4. I'd consider another slider but a decent camera is what I need from my smartphone. You know for the non-phone part of the smartphone LOL

**One hour later**

Endgadget leaks:"The new Python VRX Smartphone by Motorola. Packing the new Battle Code GTX processor"

"Oh come on!!!!!!!!!!"

I heard that the Droid9 (codename Tricorder) will feature a pure Pumpkin Pie OS experience, and support Phaser apps.

5 for 5 then including the D4. :p

It seems like China and Korea gets all the high MP smartphones. :( Eventhough I'm content with a 8MP shooter, but it still sucks that they seem to get the better versions of the phones.

I don't know why people are so infatuated with mega pixels on cameras, most of it is just marketing sales BS. Unless they do a complete overhaul of the camera a 13MP camera and a 8MP camera won't take much of a difference in image quality except the 13MP one will capture more "noise" and have large picture file size. Same holds true for hand held digital cameras.

You must have missed the flame war on the Gnex thread about this.
Take home message: Mpx does make a difference when you are downloading your pics to computer and then zooming/cropping for printing.

I did some research on this years back when I was looking at DSLR cameras and was informed by a few different knowledgeable camera people that in most cases it is a crock and just a sales pitch. Here is one of many articles out there on this subject, Breaking the Myth of Megapixels - New York Times. Might explain why the Nexus decided to go with a 5MP? I have no idea.

And also, I'm not saying it is ALWAYS BS on more mega pixels not being better, there are cases where they ARE better but they have to go through and revamp the WHOLE camera internals to get better pictures, meaning lens and sensor and price then goes up real fast.

I think the reason the Gnex went with 5 Mpx is because it has no removable SD card, so they didn't want people's pictures to hog up the camera's onboard storage.

Totally agree. In fact, even a 10 MP SLR like a Canon 40d exceeds to LP (line pair) resolution of most lenses until you start spending $2,000+ on single lenses. On a digital camara phone, there's not really going to be much difference between 5 MP and 10MP let alone 13 MP.

That might be one reason. But I think smaller mega pixel sensor helps with faster writing time and shutter lag too. Also low light shooting will benefit from lower image noise in 5mp sensor.
