Samsung 1080p TV
Samsung galaxy S3 Android 4.1.2 (Which I think is Jelly bean)
Genuine Samsung charger
Genuine Samsung MHL HDMI Adaptor
Normal HTML Lead.
Phone charges with phone straight to plug.
When phone goes through adaptor does not.
When all put together nothing happens. And yes I have selected the hdmi channel where adaptor is connected.
How do I know if adaptor is faulty (and needs to be returned)? is it an Android. 4.1.2 issue?
So cheesed off so frustrated.
Looked for phone and TV settings that might help, nothing.
Looked online for help nothing.
I do have a Samsung (which is anytime +) home cinema connected to the tv but this should not affect things and hope is that sound from phone will play through this(why shouldn
 
Are you sure you have the gs3 version. There is a difference in the connector between the s2 and s3 mhl adaptor.

Harry yep and nothing was expecting to hear the noise to say phone charging (does it do that or only kick in when battery low), if it should start charging just from that connection is part faulty. Trying to ring Samsung.
 
Yes as i thought if phone charges through plug, it should also instantly charge through adaptor, mine didn't part was faulty. Got a new one works perfectly. Re-iterates best phone on the market.
