Help HDMI to TV connection gone wrong

Morciv

Newbie
I have an RCA Tablet model rct6103w46 and I bought a mini HDMI to HDMI cable for my TV and it doesn't work right. I have sound through the TV but the picture is just color bars up and down the screen like you can see in the pic... What am I doing wrong? I've tried all the different HDMI resolution settings on the tablet and still nothing.

That can happen when the HDMI handshake signal fails.

If you can, try an HDMI to HDMI extender cable - it doesn't have to be long, just enough to change the timing at first connection.

Also - it's possible that you simply have a bad mini HDMI cable or mini to full HDMI converter.

Rule out the weird - TVs ought to auto sense HDMI connections, make sure that yours isn't trying to force a video resolution that doesn't match the tablet. (Bizarre as that sounds, I've seen HDTVs back in the day act funny that way.)

This is the second mini HDMI to HDMI adapter ive had so i dont think thats the issue. And the tv does auto adjust to the HDMI setting I select on the tablet.

I've had it plugged into both the HDMI ports and it does the same thing.

Netflix is what I was trying but it won't show picture video or anything even on the stock gallery app.

You mentioned an adapter, hopefully implying that you use a normal full HDMI cable from there.

Can you try a longer or shorter cable.

This is what I'm talking about if his tv has the MHL HDMI port on it.

Yeah, I'm aware of that , and that you meant that.

And I checked, Samsung 1080p models have it and have their ports marked that way - I'm going to get out of this part of it, I don't understand where you're going with this ok.

So -

As for Netflix, I don't know if it has DRM issues or not with this setup.

I've never seen MX Player not work with HDMI equipped devices, you might try to play local video with it.
