For those doing these HDR outdoor scenes what settings are you using for like WB and focus mode and lighting mode or just auto?

HDR photos ARE possible with an app and the Droid. I used Camera 360 to take the following shots in HDR mode and with the option to save the original here's what the results were. Up first are the standard shots that a Droid would take followed by the 'HDR' version the software creates. Keep in mind there is no high dollar camera, no PC, no Photoshop and nothing else involved. Just push the button like you would take a picture and this is what you get... no wait either. I realize it's not professional quality but for people like me who don't care to be professional they're still some striking photographs.

I'm sure the experts can pick these apart but I don't even care. I know you can do way, way, WAY better with professional equipment and endless amounts of time to learn how to use it and create professional shots but this is literally walking out back to let the dogs out with my Droid and snapping a couple shots w/basic auto settings. No knowledge or skill involved. Compared to how the photos would have turned out I would say this is a pretty cool step up and thought I would share. I'm not affiliated with Camera 360 in anyway and am a little upset with how they stripped their free trial version of most all options in an effort to force people to buy the full version so the last thing I want to do is advertise for them but it's probably worth paying for the pro and I just may instead of using an old apk and ignoring the 'update' message I get in the market all the time.

I'm just using mine in auto, varying between the HDR Light and Heavy presets.

I'm aware of this. I created that post for a thread on another forum where they said HDR wasn't possible on the Droid camera and figured I would copy/paste it here for the photos and was too lazy to edit the text out. There was some useful information within the text so I just pasted it as it was here. I knew some smarty pants would correct me and tell me it wasn't true HDR which I knew but who cares? Of course if you wanted true HDR you would invest in an expensive camera, PC and software and invest gobs of time learning how to do it then edited each photo just so but for those of us with a life this is a GREAT option to push a single button and get HDR'esque photos that look real good for a crappy Droid camera and free app.
So thanks for the heads up but it was mostly to share some more of the quick sample pics I took with others who are monitoring this thread.

All of my pictures were taken with the HDR heavy setting. I wanted the effect overly pronounced and it certainly does that. I may experiment more with the lighter setting to see how those turn out but for now I'm liking the over the top blown out look that the heavy setting gives. I may have to make a trip up the mountain to the Trail Ridge Road for some good shots looking down both sides of the continental divide. I'll take the wife up for a picnic as an excuse to test out this HDR app.
Should be pretty cool.

Just one question; when I take pics with my stock camera software, the pics are really wide, yet with camera360, they're not - is there an option for that?

These were taken, edited, and uploaded to photobucket straight from my droid x. One is regular and one was is HDR (light setting I believe). What do y'all think?
Stale thread. If you are looking for a specialised HDR app consider either Pro HDR or HDR+. both do the job well. HDR+ is smaller.
What we need though is androids with better cameras built in. blue halos and difficulty in holding the phone steady limit what can be produced on any of the available android models. DSLRs are cumbersome and Compacts can't phone home without accessories. Or is there somethingI have missed? please me if I have

I'm running the MikG v2.2 ROM which has either the GB or HC camera which has several settings, one of which being HDR. Figures this appears to be the one that doesn't work and is the one I would actually use. Hopefully it's just a bug that gets corrected in short order because I would LOVE to have HDR in the included camera app.
