Help Heading to Canada for the weekend (what can I do with my droid)

I live in upstate new york and will be heading to montreal this weekend. My droid is setup to so seamlessly pull down data and whatnot, i'm a bit scared to take it into canada and get charged roaming.

Would just turning off 3g(data) solve this problem? Should I put it in airplane mode?

Also, It'd be nice if I could use Navigation to get there and around the city, but that won't be possible will it?

On the home screen, hit the Menu button, hit settings, go to Wireless and network settings, and then go to Mobile networks.

Data roaming should be unchecked so you don't use data while roaming.
System select: Automatic allows roaming, Home only makes it so that you have no service if you're outside of your "home" (a non-roaming) area.

You may have to reboot your phone for the changes to apply, I had to on my old phone, so you might want to just to be safe. It doesn't hurt.
