Help Headphone jack on phone wont work

I tried plugging my headphones into my phone and the sound was really distorted. i tried several pairs of headphones and hooked it up to my gaming chair but it was the same every time. i plugged all of the headphones into a computer and a friends phone and the headphones all worked fine. whats wrong with my phones headphone jack?

It may just be full of gunk. Try VERY carefully to clean it out; rubbing alcohol, a bit of clean cloth and a toothpick work wonders. Do it upside down, headphone jack towards the ground.

If it's not that then you may have loose wires.
