If your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 headphone jack/port stops working, you can likely fix it by doing one of the following:
1) The port is just too deep. Even if you think you're sure there's no interference with your headphones touching the sides of your cell cover or even if you think you're sure your headphones are going all the way in, you may be mistaken. Because the port is so deep, even the slightest, and I mean SLIGHTEST, interference will cause the port not to detect the headphones. You MUST take off the cell cover and try several different headsets that appear to have long ends. You will likely find the port works fine--it's just very deep.
2) If item 1 above is not the solution, I found on another site that many people where able to fix their port issue by cleaning it and/or tightening the scew in the back thats between the camera and the flash.
Good luck!
