Help Headphone jack

Unfortunately, it looks like the headphone jack on my S3 is broken. I can only hear out of the left side of any set of headphones I plug in. You really have to mess with the cord to get the right side to work? Anyone know how much Verizon will charge to fix this or how long they will have my phone? I have insurance on the phone, but I'm assuming they still charge a fee?

I had these symptoms in past. But it turned out I was not inserting the phone jack all the way. I was convinced I was doing right. After reading a forum entry somewhere, I pushed a bit harder and it worked fine.

Try this experiment... using your S3 supplied headphone... Insert the plug as have been, but this time keep pushing in until the plug is all the way in with no part of the metal plug shaft showing. The plastic part of the plug should be almost touching the S3 case.

The headphone socket on the S3 has very tight tension on the part that engages the locking tip of the headphone plug.

I had the same issue with my last phone (DINC 2). Searched the forums and someone recommended blowing out the headphone jack with compressed air. Sure enough a little piece of lint came out and the problem was solved.
