headphone static?

whenever i have my headphones plugged in and im either selecting an app or even if im just on the home page sliding through screens i always hear a couple of seconds of static. Its espically noticable when i hit the volume button. I hear the "ding" of the volume and then the static. my brothers phone is the same way. im just wondering if this is normal. not a very big deal but its annoying, and i still got time to exchange.

It's your headphones. My cheap ones have noise/interference/static, what ever you want to call it. My AT A900's that cost 8x as much don't have static at all. I'd be willing to assume it's the grounds on the headphones themselves. My cheap headphones get noise from every device they're plugged into.

seems like your right about this, I only checked with my 10$ skullcandys, and Sony, got the static with both but right now I just checked with my 30$ philips. still hear static but just barely. so it makes sense your more expensive headphones won't make any noise. I still don't remember this with the optimus v, although I didn't pay much attention to this when I had it.
