Hi, have been a Nokia user for a very long time, where if I play music while in a call, the receiver can hear it aswell. But it seems I cant do it with android :o
Is there any workaround/ mod for that

my ques is how do i make the other person (the receiver with whome i am talkin) to hear the music that i play. this feature was available even with basic nokia phones....

No, I understood it well, I just haven't found a way to do that other than using an external speaker.

hmmmm. so do u mean that while in a call if i turn on my speaker and play a song then the receiver can hear it aswell
has it worked for u?

Never tried it since I just use my Xoom for music, but you can try it and let us know since it doesn't require much

Dear it works but only caller can list music not call receiver ... this facility is already available in Q-mobile A-8..
Kindly tell us that particular app which work both side ...

It works if you install a music player called PowerAmp and turn the "Pause in Call" option to OFF. I just tested it. I don't know if any other music players do it but you will have to try them if you only want free applications, as PowerAmp is only free trial version and so will keep asking you to buy the full version, which is what a free trial should do.

Possibly nobody does it because of copyright issues. To play copyrighted music down the telephone, which can be for music on hold, etc. is actually a public performance and requires a music license AFAIK. I know some companies in the UK got into trouble over that as well with the MCPS and PRS, and had to cough up money.

but I only want to play ... for me and the person on the other end.

like if we are both in the same room listening to my music....

Perhaps it's the practicalities of actually doing it on Android. Ever tried to do the same thing with Skype on a computer, to get both sides of the call to directly hear the music that's playing. It's not straight forward, and can involve either a third-party audio mixing and patching program, such as SoundFlower on Mac, or an external mixer, i.e. something that can mix the microphone audio and the music channel to the outgoing call, and still play it locally as well.
