Hebrew display in certain apps

Phone: LG Optimus One
OS: Android 2.2
Carrier: Optus

Hebrew fonts are installed, but Hebrew text does not display right-to-left in some apps (eg messaging, facebook, google+, etc). It does display correctly in other apps (eg Gmail, browser, etc). Positive unintended consequence: learned to read Hebrew backward. :)

Other strange behavior: Just installed AnySoftKey Hebrew package, but no Hebrew under Languages and Keyboard.

Called Optus, told me to call LG. Called LG, told me it's apps faults. Hum... no one else complains about this bug, so?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Update: Hebrew now displays correctly with FB app update. Guess it must be app dependent. Now if I could only get Google+, Messaging, etc., also to display correctly. No one else has had this problem?

Main wishlist: Hebrew in Messaging, and a Hebrew Keyboard. The rest can wait.

I suppose everything will get fixed in Gingerbread, but LG is taking its time releasing it for the Optimus One.

Shalom.

About the messaging. You said in your OP that your carrier was Optus. That's an Australian carrier isen't it? Maybe they don't support foreign language SMSs, so it could be that's why Hebrew doesn't appear correctly. Presumably in Israel, Hebrew SMSs should display and read correctly.

I'm sure somome posted here a few months ago about a non-Chinese carrier that wasn't able to handle Chinese character SMSs.

Google+ is still closed beta, so it might be something they haven't looked at yet. If they get enough people submitting bug-reports, it should get fixed. Google+ is also app dependant, like Facebook.

There are a few Hebrew capable keyboards in the Market, have you tried any of them?
