Hello and welcome to Android Forums! 
There's really not much to set up once you've established a data connection. If you have 3G service from your wireless carrier, then you should already have the internet. If not, you'll need to connect to Wifi. Turn on the Wifi antenna at menu>settings>wireless & netwroks. Once the box is checked, go into wireless settings and scan for available networks, click on yours and enter a passkey if required.
