Hello all

Mornin' all......

I've just got myself an Android Tab - a ZT 180 - and as I'm new to all this - and getting on in years - I was looking for information on the Interweb and came aross this forum.

You lot seem to be a friendly bunch,so I thought I'd say "Hola" (that's what they say where I live) and take this opportunity to ask you something. I'm in sunny Spain, near Cadiz and I sometimes think I've time-travelled back to the 19th century, but at least it's sunny!

I actually bought this tab to load and play music on, but I just can't figure out how to get my MP3 files onto it. I've loaded them all to a USB stick, but when I shove the stick in the tab I can't find any reference to it anywhere.

I've never come across this operating system before, so it's just that I don't know my way around it and the bit of paper that came with the tablet just about explains how to switch it on - and that's in Chinese!

It seems that all knowledgeable people expect everyone else to have the same skill levels as they have and usually ignore the very basics and people like me tend to get left to struggle, and, believe me, at my age technology can be a struggle - I left school over 50 years ago!

If anyone would take the trouble to point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful and it would save a new tablet from becoming airborne from my study window.

By the by, can the Andoid operating system be removed and replaced with Windows XP? At least I can work that!

Any input would be gratefully received and I hope that one day I can be in a position to advise newcomers myself.

Welcome to the Android Forums!

The ZT180 is part of a class of Chinese knockoff tablets. Unfortunately you won't be able to load files directly to it from a USB key as I do not believe that the tablet support USB Host mode. The best way to load files to it would be with a micro SD card.

As for Windows XP I'm sorry to say that Microsoft does not currently support the architecture found on the Android tablet. I'm told that Microsoft is working on support these types of devices but there's no timeline till it's done and it's highly unlikely that they'll officially retrofit end-of-life OS's like Windows XP.
