hello all

HTCya

Lurker
Hi all,

Stumbled upon this forum whilst googling for advice I have needed since picking up my Desire HD at Hong Kong duty free, have picked up many tips and pointers so far so thought I better stop lurking!

Gingerbread introduced itself to my phone in the early hours of this morning and it has been annoying to say the least.

and then through searching this forum I got more annoyed as I slowly discovered how many things on my phone are not working as they should!

I imagine I will have a fair few questions but would also hope to be able to contribute too, I suppose I will see most of you in the Desire HD section.

Any tips on getting photos and videos to stay in the gallery and facebook status notifications to actually take me to a message or chat would be greatly appreciated, dont even get me started on skype!!!

System upgrades usually take a few days and a few reboots to settle in. Clearing caches helps sometimes as well. If the photos and videos are not staying in the gallery, where are they going?

Thanks all,

Lunatic59 I'm not sure where they are going I guess nowhere but the stock gallery does not always pick them up? I also have kii safe for private pictures but sometimes the thumbnails for them show up in the stock gallery but can't be opened. I'm going to look at astro and some kind of SD card tools

Android will scan your MicroSD card or your sdcard partition (depending on the phone) and display and images in the gallery unless within the folder is a file named ".nomedia". The sdcard is not mounted when the phone is in usb storage mode, so any images there would display in the gallery, but should reappear when you turn off storage.
