Hello All!

I'd guess I'm old compared to most of you all here near 50. I just got my first Droid and I decided to go with the Samsung Galaxy S III. I understand from some of the younger guys at work that its something to be envious of. I wouldn't know, but I do enjoy watching them drool.:smokingsomb:

Its on Verizon. I read or heard somewhere that Verizon puts a bunch of useless software on the phone, like PC manufacturers do I'd guess. It was mentioned there that it might be worth it to do a factory reset to get all the useless stuff off.

Would it be worth doing a factory reset?

My main concern is I've already loaded a bunch of apps that I use for my side business. Will those apps automatically download again to my phone if do the reset? I know if I go to the Google Play store on my PC it knows the apps I've downloaded, so I'm thinking maybe that means they will download automatically. A few are paid subscriptions so I definitely do not want to lose them.

Welcome to the forums! :)

No worries about age, we're all over the place (and I got you beat there).

A factory reset won't get rid of the bloatware, but getting admin access (we call that rooting) and deleting them will.

I recommend MyBackup Pro to save your valuable apps and data. After rooting, add on the free module MyBackup Root for total control of your data.
