Hello and a quick question

Hello and welcome to the forums. It depends on which carrier you have. For Example: Sprint phones you would type ##786# then look under recondition(Rec) to see if there is "yes or no." I don't know how the other carriers device works.

Thanks for joining the forums. :)

Hi,
How do you tell if ur phone is a refurbished one?
My handset seal was broken, then a second one was placed ontop??

Welcome to the AndroidForums, kinkiepeach!

I'm not sure I know the answer to your question, though...can you tell us a little more about your phone?

Cheers and glad you signed-up with us here at AF :).

I did not know this existed.Ya got any more of these codes?
Having them all listed in one place would be nice.

Yes, but they would require you having the phone's six digit password (MSL code). This can be obtain by calling Sprint Tec Support and tell them that you want to reset your data connection.

THX,I'll do that on their next business day(SPRINT).
I was able to use the one posted earlier & was glad to come across this thread.I had suspected my set was a refurbished model, but,it was in fact new when I purchased it.

Actually,I was referring to the dialing codes, such as the *#*#4636#*#*.

Any more of those that you may know of that aren't common knowledge to some, especially the newcomers to smartphones & A/F?

The only ones I could publicly post would be - the (one) I previously posted ##786# and ##72786#, and also ##3282#. These two would refresh your data connection. ##72786# works much better though. :)

Thanks guys for welcoming aboard.
Looks like i've found the right experts here?
Anyways, i bought mine from vodafone, the handset i received has 2 seals on the box!! First seal is broken and second one had resealed.
Does this mean it's a refurbished one??
Once a phone has been sealed by the factory, do they brake the seal and install upgrades?
Has anyone heard of this??
I'm so confused! I spoke to vodafone they refuse to swap another!
Please advise.

I would not think the factory seal would be broken to install an upgrade. Once the phone is online.. any available upgrades will be pushed to it by the carrier. That's not to say that the seal wasn't accidentally broken in some fashion and another seal put in place prior to shipping. I only know how I would feel if I received the phone with a broken seal... I'd be suspicious and would have contacted Vodafone for another unit as well. (I'm just an ordinary guy.. but want new if I pay a new price for something) I honestly don't know how I would proceed if I were in your position.
I suspect I'd likely chase up the ladder of support at vodafone until I got satisfaction or I was convinced it was a useless effort. All that said... the phone may be new.
It's a crazy sad thing you have to deal with the hassle. I hope once the dust settles, you love your new phone and will use these forums to get the max enjoyment from it.
