Hello! And advice needed

Hello, I'm new to the forum and wanted to say hi, but also ask for some advice.
I haven't yet woned an Android phone, but I'll be getting one in December and my price range allows me to get the Samsung Galaxy Ace, the Galaxy Mini or the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman.

I'm wondering which of these phones will be best for gaming. I know the Live with Walkman is the only one running Gingerbread (and has a 1GHz processor which the is better than the other two phones), but how much difference will this make for gaming compared to the Galaxy Ace and Mini's Froyo and slower processors?

So I'm actually asking about Android versions more than phones: what is the difference between 2.2 and 2.3 in terms of gaming quality?

Thanks for any help :)

Welcome to Android Forums!

Android version will, especially between FroYo and Gingerbread, will have very little to do with gaming performance. It will be more a function of the CPU and GPU, if the phone even has a dedicated GPU. I really can't comment on any of them as I don't have any of those models and I'm not really into games. You might want to ask in the gaming forum.

Underline mine.

I agree. And I would add that a 4" screen sucks for gaming. While gaming in turn sucks for battery life. For gaming you need as much screen real estate as possible, the latest and greatest CPUs and GPUs, and no battery issues. Phones have none of that.
