Hello and PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi there from AUSTRALIA!

i was just wondering if anybody could help me turn my cellular data on? its probably very easy.. but im shocking with technology!! It came to my attention that it was turned off when i tried to send a message through Viber to my cousin overseas.. when i tried to send through the message it failed and then a pop up message came up informing me that my cellular data was off and that i should either turn on my packet data or Wi-Fi.. i tried this but it still didn't work. and at the top of the screen is shows my wi-fi is always on.. so why isn't it working? i dont get it?! please helpp@

Hello and welcome to the forums - thanks for joining!

I have actually left my phone at home today, so this is all from memory...

If, when you are on one of your homescreens, you press "menu", you should then have several possibilities... one of the first is wireless and networks. From within that menu, you should be able to turn on 3G data... I can't quite remember which further option you need or if you can turn it on from there (sorry)... but this should point you in the right direction.

Post back if you can't manage to find it and I'm sure that someone (wh has their phone) will be able to offer some advice!

By the way... what device do you own?

As you are in Australia, I will hazard a guess that you have the following version of the Galaxy S II Samsung Galaxy S2 (International) - Android Forums

You might like to check out with other users in there, as they should be able to help (as I said... normally I would, but I left my phone at home this morning!!)

It's something like "wireless and networks" and then go to "mobile networks" and it's an option in there (I think)

Great... was from memory and I haven't got much of one of those on a Monday morning!

Did you check for apn settings .
it's usually under
Settings-->wireless and networks -->Mobile networks --> access point names (APN)
