Help Hello echo?

I recently discovered that using headphones with the Nexus causes an echo for the other party calling. So, if someone calls me, they will hear an echo when they talk. But if I remove the headphones, it goes away for them. I've tried various headphones, ear buds, etc and they all cause the problem. A quick search reveals others are having this, but no resolution. WTH?

mine will occasionally cut off, and i have to remove them and sometimes doing that will hang up the phone. so yeah not happy about this issue. but your right, it does cause an echo that is unbearable
