Hello there!
I have made apps using BASIC4PPC for Windows Mobile in the past and now am studying Java (towards a degree in Computing hopefully) at the Open University.
the OU wishes me use Netbeans which is OK am am doing so, but am also starting to use Eclipse 3.6 with Android SDK from a Android dev perspective to start to learn:
1) how to make apps for Android
2) how to learn a bit more Java from a fun perspective to help me in Java learning for uni.
I like making retro games (why not search for Nightmare Park game in Google) and as such am currently scouring for a tutorial in this forum as a kick off on how to just "paint" images to the "screen" (panel?) without creating many (any!?) subclasses of stuff to start me off in app development.
I have run the standard example of "Hello Android" (yay!) and also checked out Playing with graphics in Android – Part I on Android Development but the latter seems overkill to do what I want. However, I will keep searching and perhaps buy an "Android for Dummies" book.
### EDIT: Aha! This is what I need! Designer Android tutorial
I guess I will be posting quite a bit in the Development sections in the weeks and months to come!
So for now, "Hello all!"
