Hello! New Aria-few problems...

e_eggs

Lurker
So I picked up an unlocked aria from ebay for $160 sold as is. The description said everything was perfect minus the misfitting digitizer(supposedly from the European model). Also during calls the screen would go black and return to normal after a second.

Well I get the phone and sure enough, the digitizer doesn't fit properly in place...no worries everything else works right? Nope, no earpiece sound also does not work, only speaker phone. Also the screen after a master reset sorta would just stay black during a call.

My question is...worth fixing? When I took the phone apart I noticed I probably tore the ribbon slightly...so new digitizer for sure. But would that also solve the screen going black during calls? Also...when the phone was apart the earpiece speaker seemed to have "moved" back into place but with a none working digitizer there was no way to test this.

Will a new digitizer and speaker fix my problems? What parts do I look for? The inside of my phone says HTC Intruder, but nothing for parts comes up on ebay.

Thanks for your time!

Welcome to the Android Forums!

A new digitizer and speaker may be a good starting point but it'll be difficult to determine the state of the rest of the phone until they have been repaired. As for finding parts, I'd check around and try to find a shop that repairs phones...

I would just get another phone. I don't think it is worth the trouble and expense. Expecially since att is getting a new htc phone with a 4.3 inch screen. Another reason to just get another one is because you don't know that is the only 2 things wrong with it. This is just my opinion. Good Luck and welcome to the forum.

^ Well, the guy said he would pay for the new speaker, thinking about it I'm almost certain the speaker was just not properly seated.lol But...I did already buy a digitizer...figured the cost of that will only bring me to a little over 200. Still a good deal for a phone in excellent condition, as long as that fixes the technical problem!
