hi, i just bought a new google android table 2..2...and was wondering why i can't find the facebook for android app at the android market! they have myspace, ebay, etc etc...but i've not found a facebook mobile app! they
have everything related to FB...just not the regular app to install plain ol FB!! what is up wit dat??? new to droid stuff, so i would appreciate any suggestions or answers! thx! :confused:

It might be that because of the spec's of your tablet, the market thinks it's not compatible. If you log into the market on a PC you can go here to see if the facebook app is compatible with your device.
 
well, i have done that...and there's a pop-up that says for me to choose my device...but on the drop-down menu there is only "android phone" listed and there are no other choices!! i thought that was odd! i don't understand why that app isn't one at the android market that is on the tablet! ???? really weird.
 
Many tablets will be identified as a "Phone" especially the unbranded ones from China. Which model tablet did you buy?

??? what? as a phone?? i don't get it. but it's not a phone. it's a tablet...lol...i know i sound ridiculous! but i just don't understand!
 
well, even on the drop-down menu where it says to "identify my device"...and all it says is "android phone"...it's all greyed out like it's not really a choice anyway!! sooo....wth??!


so what i'm saying is...it won't let me identify it as anything!!! GRRR
 
That would indicate that it's not compatible. Have you tried some alternate sources for the Market like getjar.com or Amazon App Store? You can sometimes get apps there that the Market won't let you see. Be careful to only go to legitimate sites as some of the shadow markets are rife with malware.
 
yeh i was wondering if i could do that! so...go to getjar or amazon? anything else? i'm not sure i should even keep this thing! not what i expected...but looked SO good for the price!! any suggestions on a better android tablet? but not real expensive? thanks for all your help!
 
I suppose it depends on what you want and how much effort you are willing to put into it. For $150 you can get a nook color, which is an excellent tablet once rooted and reflashed with CM7. You will give up 3G, a camera and only has marginal Bluetooth.

Out of the box I don't think there's anything decent for under $250.
