Hello People!

Lurker
I'm new here, just signed in.Can someone with an HTC Desire S tell me how the screen deactivates by itself, while charging?Without having to push the power button?(I've already set the screen timeout to 30sec.,but still during charging the screen's on).
Thank you!

Hi adaky and welcome to the forums.

I don't have a Desire S but do have an HTC Inspire 4G which is similar. Go into settings > applications > development and make sure that it is not check marked under the "stay awake" option. This keeps your screen on while the phone is plugged into the charger.

Hmm...Unfortunately your menu's different.I don't have such a setting when I go to Settings > Power. But thanks for your reply!

Every android phone has a Settings > applications > Development menu.

Did you access the settings from the home screen by pressing menu?

Welcome to the forums.

Can you tell us which options you see when you go Settings -> Applications please? Shawn is correct, every Android phone should have Development listed as one of the options.

When you go into "settings", scroll down until you get to "applications". Once you press "applications" you'll see another menu called "development". Click this menu and it will show the "stay awake" option. Make sure "stay awake" is not checked.

Okay sounds like you need to do a hard reset. This will erase all the data from your phone and restore it back to the factory settings.

Go to settings, then click on "SD & phone storage" and then select "factory data reset".

If this doesn't work, you probably have a faulty device and you might need to exchange it.

Aha...I have it only four days and it needs a hard set already...?I see.
Thank you both for your help and replies!
