Hello, please can you help

Lurker
Hi guys, I am very new to Android and would love some help from you knowledgeable folks. Every time I try and install an application onto my e-pad (Chinese 10.2" model running Android 2.1) I get the "application not available" error. I am downloading these applications onto my laptop and transferring them onto a USB stick. Any help would be much appreciated, I expect this is a real rookie error but we all have to learn !!

Some Chinese knockoff tablets don't have really good drivers so reading from a USB key might be part of the problem If the tablet supports a USB mode you could always connect the tablet to your PC via USB cable and transfer the file to the micro SD card in the tablet... and then install the app.

Many thanks for the quick reply Martimus, I have already tried a few things, I am able to play movies etc off the USB, I wondered about using the SD so I tranfsered everything onto there and still got the same error message coming up.

What video format are these movies encoded in? For some silly reason many Android devices don't typically come with a wealth of video codecs. On mine I typically convert everything to MP4 format (though even that's no guarantee).
