Hello! Soon to be Android user!

Hello everyone. Little background, my name is Randy I am 23 and from Ohio!

Now I'm getting excited here. I have an LG flip phone that was a hand-me-down from one of my brothers a few years back. It's uh pretty used now! Soon my brother's contract ends in Febuary which means my pseudo contract will be over too. This phone has done me well, I really enjoyed not having an actual contract in my name, just in case I would miss a payment. I have a static life what can I say!

So I've been looking at providers that had decent coverage in my area. I think I'm going to be going with Cricket again, despite some strange policies. I noticed they have a couple Android phones now, I'm really leaning towards the Huawei Ascend with its price and features making a good first smart phone. Or at least that's what I hear!

I see now though a new Huawei phone the X5 being released with some very nice features, better everything pretty much. I'm curious and I'd like to ask the veteran smart phone users some questions. What is the likelihood of this new Huawei phone coming to Cricket? and if so, would it possibly be soon? If it is I'd probably just go for a low priced phone until it comes out. Or should I just go ahead with the Huawei Ascend like previously planned?

I really hate buyers remorse. Especially if I could have something that is better and possibly cheaper! Either way I can't wait to become an Android phone!!

-Also, I'm totally open to suggestions on carriers or phones!

Welcome to the Android Forums!

At this point it's not yet known what's on Cricket's roadmap for 2011. Following the close of CES we should, hopefully, see more information on what they are planning for the new year.

I'm very curious to see! I figured most of the things I was asking would be "hush hush". They'd definitely make tons of money if they made people think a newer better Android weren't coming until way later. I guess Febuary 11th is the day to see where I stand with this whole phone situation!

Welcome to Android Forums!! :)
Thank you for the warm welcome!
