Hey everyone. Anthony here, just introducing myself officially. I signed up back in December for one reason or another, but now I feel like I can actually become active. I've currently got an S4 on its way to my house today. This is the first smartphone I've owned since I had my HTC Inspire, so I've been in the dark for a couple of years (been lurking and window shopping since then). My wife owns an iPhone, but I've also convinced her to join the android side (she'll most likely be getting an S4 when her upgrade comes up). The S4 probably wouldn't have been my first choice, but I had a list of Androids that I liked for different reasons, and couldn't decide, so I let her decide for me. I wanted the Mega 6.3 for the size (I want a tablet, but don't want to have to keep up with 2 devices), the Note 2 for the screen size and s pen (although I can't figure out why I would ever use the s pen), s4 active for water resistance, HTC One, because it seems to be the most popular phone of last year and early this year, plus I actually loved using Sense on my Inspire, and the Moto X for the near vanilla experience.
As far as rooting, I've considered it, but I'm not sure if I want to risk it at the moment. As it stands right now, the only reason I would want to is to remove the AT&T bloatware that I know comes on the S4, so I can clear up some of the memory. I didn't realize how much memory Touchwiz and bloatware takes up on the S4 (almost half of the 16GB). I don't necessarily need a lot of memory, since most of my downloads will be a few time killer games, and some pictures for work (design engineer/OSPE for AT&T, occasionally need to take photos of telco equipment), and pictures and videos of my family.
Anyway, if anyone decides to follow me around and read my posts, you'll soon realize that I like to ramble, so I'll probably get a lot of heat from you guys about that. So yeah, that's me and where I came from in regards to android/smartphones.. Hope to become a contributing member of this forum!
