Hello, i am eligible to upgrade from my iPhone 3g soon, and was really interested in getting an Android phone with Att. i have to stay with att because of a family plan. not sure if these questions should be asked here but, Why is android better than iOS, and also what is ATTs flagship Android phone ATM.

Welcome to the community!

Android is WAY customizable over iOS. And imo faster and smoother when running apps. I'm not sure what their flagship is at the moment as i'm getting ready to run out the door to work...

Thanks for the reply, I was playing with my Mother in laws new sprint android phone and the operating system seems a lot smoother from the five minutes i played with it. anyone else have comments?

Welcome to the Android Forums!

Comparing an Android phone to an iPhone is like, er, well Apples to Oranges. iPhone provides it's users a very controlled experience. Change is possible within some areas of iOS... but most every phone looks pretty much the same. Even the Apple hardware is the same within generations of the iPhone.

In the Android world different manufacturers design their phones in a manner more consistent with their own goals. So long as the phone meets or exceeds the minimum requirements the manufacturer can release the phone with the Android OS installed. The OS is also designed more generically with a phone specific abstraction layer. This layer allows the phone to communicate with the different hardware and typically makes each Android installation fairly phone specific.

Which is better? Well that depends on the individual user...
