Hi everyone

So glad I came across this forum! Hopefully I can find lots of useful information to help me to get my head around my new HTC Desire.

I'm finding the phone quite user friendly, but my one concern is how fast my data usage is rising. In 5 days it's at 23% of 1GB (monthly allowance). I haven't connected to the internet (at all) and am basically using the phone to send/receive telephone calls and text messages.

I did have a widget on the home screen which was the weather/time, and have just removed a few minutes ago now that to see if it makes a difference over the next couple of days.

If anyone has any tips on how I can minimise usage that appears to happen automatically it would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers
T

Welcome to the Android Forums!

Android phones are Internet devices so expect that the phone will use lots of data unless you're very careful with it. Check all of the phones home screens and delete any/all widgets that you don't absolutely need. Many widgets will use Internet data in the background even if you're not actively using them.
