Hello!

I just got my first android phone.. The T-mobile G2X. Loved every single aspect of it except for the battery life >_<. I came here to learn more about the OS and how to optimize battery! Thanks!

Welcome to the Android Forums!

There are a number of things you can do to improve battery life:

1. Delete any/all un-necessary widgets from each of your phones home screens. Widgets use power regardless of whether or not you reference them.

2. Turn off auto-brightness. Set the brightness on the screen to the dimmest level that's comfortable to use.

3. If your phone supports battery profiles, set your battery profile to the most conservative one that suits your needs.

4. Turn off auto sync for your email accounts. Manually sync the phone when you need to check for emails. Auto syncing takes battery power even when no new mail is found.

5. Turn off bluetooth/WiFi when you are not actively using it.
