Hi everyone in phandroid land, I am a total and complete noob in all aspects of application development and pretty much anything tech related. I have my smartphone and I expect IT to be the smart one in our relationship. Recently I have developed a need to have more control and awareness over my life. I suppose it is probably a mid life crisis, but, hey, whatever it takes to get things going.... It's only a semi expensive phone, it could have been a corvette. All of the patience and understanding that is forthcoming from the members of Phandroid is extremely appreciated!!! I apologize in advance for the silly remarks that I am bound to make, and the ridiculous questions I will probably ask....bear with me, I am learning 
Thus far, I have managed to root one old Samsung prevail phone, and lock up completely render useless one Samsung galaxy showcase phone, LOL, I'm 50/50.
I live in the middle of BFE where the only carrier that has good signal is Verizon, and being in the middle of BFE you really don't want to be caught out and about with no cell coverage in case of emergency.
