Root {help} 4G Limit

From what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't have the hw for 3g. you definitely get full 4g, its throttled in a variable inside of systemui.apk @ 300kb/s. I changed it to 3000 and maxed at 1.8mB. The problem you get is 3g is actually 2gadvanced. Which is slow as piss.

AFAIK, the systemui has nothing to do with your data speeds :P

Plus, the L70 doesn't have a normal systemui.apk, so I'd like to know where this variable is :3

What??? I don't understand any of this...the L70 only gets 2g & 3g, only, the 4g symbol is an advanced 3g, true 4g is LTE, this is listed in the manufacturers specs. What do you mean by saying 3g is advanced 2g, and what does the user interface have to do with data speed?

My questions exactly...

Sorry for the confusion. Its actually an integer in framework-res.apk called "config_datause_throttle_kbps" "300"
But after looking again its actually kBITS (~30kBp/s) which would be the 3g throttle.
Interesting.

Come to think of it, when I was throttled I got like 65kBp/s

So, I can't explain why I get ~1.6mBp/s when I torrent. Good towers maybe?

After reading this thread, I get the impression you are using a lot of data. You can't get something for nothing. It seems like you are trying to shovel water upstream, and the bucket has a hole in it. Bite the bullet and get a better plan. T-mobile and Sprint have just introduced new low cost family plans in the fight for third place in the marketplace. Sprint just changed plans this week, after bringing in a new CEO. Perhaps there is something better. (I'm with VZW, so I can't comment on either company.) If you are using the phone in the house, an internet router should give you WiFi as an alternate to chewing on your data plan. HTH.
