Apps HELP: Android KeyStore!!!

I am trying to update one of my old android apps. when i upload the new apk it says:

Google Play requires that the certificate used to sign the apk be valid until at least October 22, 2033. Create a new certificate.

It tells me to create a new certificate, but i don't want to create a new certificate as then it wont be an update:

The apk must be signed with the same certificates as the previous version.


Google has messed up here, how can i go about fixing this? Ive read on the internet you can somehow connect two certificates together (old one and new one with date bigger than 2033). Basically all i want to do is increase the certificate date to a date greater than 2033. ANY IDEA???

I'm guessing nobody knows, looked all over google for so many hours now and all i seem to find is solutions that end up changing the certificate. So annoying how i cant update one of my apps even when it hasnt expired.

I'm not sure how to get around this but if Google caused this with their default settings in the export wizard in Eclipse, I would post in the Market help forums and possibly try tweeting @android

You could also try and contact them through G+.

Thanks, i will try those things now, ive seen other people on the internet with the exact same problem so surely there will be a solution.
