Help help! android upgrade??

I have a samsung galaxy gt-19000, its running 2.1 version..i spent a good few hours on kies trying to upgrde to 2.2 but was unsuccessful. I was wondering if there is any other way of upgrading as half of the apps i download dont work as im running on older os version!

How exactly is Kies not working? Kies is the only official way to update other than taking it to a Samsung service center. Other ways of update involve breaking warranty via rooting to install custom updates.

Oh wait are you using a carrier device? Go to menu>settings>about phone>check for updates

you sure this is right forum? OP says 19000 which I assume poster means i9000 which is the galaxy s not the s2.

If you can't get the kies update to work you can flash new firmware manually with Odin using this guide
