I downloaded an app, a screen shot one and found it was not that good so uninstalled it. Now my home page. on Internet has changed to "search mobile" website and forces itself upon me.

How can I spey this please?

No its still there its searchmobileonline by qr scanner. How do I get rid?

Thank you. I didn't read the first post right. I read it as though Liam was getting "mobile" sites instead of desktop.

yes its some part of dodgy apps by QR, they are going to get a nasty review on google store!

I have had to reset my browser and have now lost all my bookmarks!!

Many of us throughout various forums have been using Barcode Scanner by ZXING (Zebra Crossing) Team for years.

ZXing would be my second choice. I haven't had trouble with either.

QRDroid Private has got my download. No idea why the apps require so much of my personal info all the time!!

Flashlight app did it to me. It created a bookmark that was set to come up. Does it come with help text? If so, read it a few times.

Yes ive read that some flashlight apps do it too although flashlight by hockeypro doesn't and its superb.

How did you remove the virus?

Followed the directions on their page. The first time their search icon was not displayed, so after deleting and installing the app a second time, the search icon was displayed and I was subsequently able to delete it. You must have their icon displayed is my conclusion.

I got rid off the dreadful app completely. Don't know how they can get away with it!!
