Help HELP - Apps missing from home doc

00bolt

Lurker
I have a Samsung Galaxy S phone. Today it kinda crashed, so I restarted the phone. When it booted up, the only application in the bottom doc is the "applications" app. The phone, messaging and mail are missing from down there.

I watched some youtube videos and read alot of threads and have not been able to get this problem fixed.

Apparently all Im supposed to do is

1. go to applications
2. click menu button
3. click edit
4. drag messaging app or whatever down to doc

however, when I get to step #4 the docs all get a little box around them like I can move them around, and I can move them around, but I cannot move them down to the doc.

down in the doc is just a HOME app, but if i try and move another app down there, it just immediately jumps back up to the top and doesnt stay in the doc

anyone have any ideas???

Once had a similar issue and was never able to resolve the issue. A reset seems the most likely answer which I didn't want to do. Interestingly all the default icons returned when there was an update of android.

However I'd suggest going for an alternative launcher. GO Launcher is a good option with this you can choose exactly what you have in the dock and futher more the dock scrolls letf/right and you can have upto 15 icons.
