Help Help before hard brick S 2

Make this as quick as I can.

Got new Grey S2 from boost and rooted following sticky here and worked great.

2 days later upgraded vis samsung kies to jellybean and all worked great except not rooted any longer.

Rooted again following sticky. I boot and see S II with yellow triangle but then nothing but a blank screen.

I can get to Odin and recovery mode.

What is the best way to recover my phone using which Kernel?

Can I just load the stock rom and is there one already compiled?

How do I root after I get to jellybean?

found my answer. Going to do this

put your phone in download mode and do the one click install of GC01 restor from here:

[ROM][ODIN][TAR]SPH-D710BST GC01 (GC01 Modem/Kernel/ROM - Root/Stock)

You want this file, "SPH-D710BST_GC01_1014517_Stock_Restore.exe" for restore of the non rooted stock Jelly Bean for Boost.

That file is a self extracting archive with a self contained Odin installer with the ROM. Run it on your PC (windows) to extract file folder, then run the installer in the folder it creates. Then you need to put your phone into download mode, then connect it to the pc via the cable. when you see the com port on the installer light up, hit start.

Note: the instructions must be done in that order, and do not have kies running on your PC at the time you do this..

That is all well known. I suggest doing a little more reading to save yourself some trouble. Your initial problem with rooting the GC01 Jelly Bean was that you can't use the same kernel as you did for Ice Cream Sandwich. You have to use a kernel meant for Touch Wiz Jelly Bean.


Glad you did figure out how to fix your phone. It is an expensive thing to turn into a paperweight.
