Help [HELP] Can't tether or use wifi on CM9

Droid X running CM9, 9-20120809-UNOFFICIAL-SHADOW...

WiFi is completely grayed out, and it wont let me use it. When I hit "Mobile Hotspot" it just sits there and says "turning on" but it never actually comes on. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

PS: If anyone knows of a faster, more stable rom please let me know. I don't mind if its JB, ICS or froyo.

there is flashable tethering hack in my list, but most just use a tethering app.
