Root Help choosing a browser

I've been playing around with some browsers and I just can't find that one that I like. I'm looking for one that is fast, intuitive, and just plain ol fun to use.

I have tried dolphin, dolphin hd, Opera, Opera mini, and xscope. Can you guys help me out in finding the best one to use? I know part of my problem is using the stock browser for so long i'm just used to it and it feels weird using something else.

I prefer Dolphin HD. The stock browser goes to mobile sites unless you jump through hoops to change it and those settings don't stay after force stop or reset.

Dolphin keeps its settings. You can also use the bookmarks add-on to save them and you can organize the folders, for those reasons I don't like xscope or miren.

Others you can try are Firefox, Miren, and Skyfire. I actually prefer Firefox now that it's out of beta.

I'm trying Dolphin HD for a frew days, and so far like what I see. Anyone know how to set the user agent so I can use the "Android" setting on Google.com, and "Desktop" on all other sites? Maybe it's just too late in the evening, but I can't seem to figure it out! LOL Thanks!

It doesn't work that way, it's either or. You can download the add-on for toggling the desktop.

xScope will let you set the user agent per-domain. So you could set the default to desktop and customize google.com

Works great for me because my work email presents a nice mobile interface to iPhones but not to Android phones. So I set my UA to mobile safari for that site, but not for anywhere else.

To the OP, try Miren. I think that one is my second favorite. You could try Firefox but I found it to be bloated and slow as hell.

Frankly, I'm a big xScope fan. It just works well with my habits. I wish the scrolling was a little smoother but it's not really a functional complaint, just a visual one. Also, it'd be nice if it could use the stock browser's copy/paste where you just long press to select instead of hitting a menu button.

Two minor niggles in what is overall a great browser, though. In my opinion. I've tried every browser available and keep coming back to it.

I don't think you'll get a lot of help choosing. You'll get a lot of, "I prefer this one." But each browser is different, with a different feature set, and everyone's browsing habits vary so what's good for one person might not be good for another.

Thanks! This is vey helpful. (the add-on) I will give this a shot, but it seems that some websites won't switch to the desktop version without exiting the site and going back. A simple switch of the add-on and reload doesn't load the desktop version. Example wikipedia. There is a link at the bottom of this particular site to switch versions, but not all sites are so accomodating.

Thanks, will give this a try as well! :)

Well I knew starting out with this topic I would get more along the lines of "I prefer this one". I just wanted to get some ideas on how the varying browsers worked and acted.

For all the ones I have tried I think I'm gonna stick with Opera. It's the fastest, cleanest browser I have used thus far. Oh, and Firefox, PIECE OF CRAP!

Anywho, Opera seams to be the fastest and most responsive on MY phone. Thanks for all your input guys. It did help me determine which browser to use.
